Rare Akamitsu ・秋光・Kamisori, Restored Vintage Japanese Straight Razor, Rattan/Silk Handle Wrapping, with some collectables.Rarer Vintage Akamitsu Japanese straight razorKamisori. Directly imported from Japan and restored by us to a hair popping quality and sharpness. This Kamisori is somewhat special. It was in bad shape but we could restore it to its full original beauty after hours of honing and restoration. It was made pre 2nd WW, most likely in the 1920s or 30s. We got it together with its original sliding lid wooden box and 2 additional items. On the left you can see

We thought it would be a shame to separate these items from one another as the old owner also owned them together

The こ (ko) looks a bit like an ホ(ho) but is just an old way of writing

Engraved on the lid is an Ukiyo-e woodblock print of Utagawa Kuniyoshi's"Tiger (Tora): Kashiwade no Omi Hatebe"

The blade comes wrapped in red linnen in a Handmade Box made from the Japananese Hinoki tree
