This variety of Amazonite is actually a combination of Amazonite, Tourmaline and Pyrite. Amazonite is named for the Amazon River in Brazil, where the stones are thought to have been originally found, however they are not currently sourced from this region.

It is best known for its characteristic deep blue to violet-blue color

which is not Jasper but rather a combination of Feldspar and Quartz

It is believed by some to improve memory and increase analytical skills
