Ledaig 15 Year Old 1990sIsland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl 43% The old presentation of Ledaig 15 Year Old from around 2000. This was a soft yet gently smoky Island dram with bonfire, coastal and farmy notes throughout. Lovely stuff that holds up well after all these years.

Its always interesting to taste these bottlings and they are at very inviting prices for the quality

with more crisp and drying coastal notes and perhaps a little more complexity at the expense of the heavy medicinal and earthy notes

Scape comes from the distant Orkney Isles

but this wooden box presentation was standard throughout the 1990s and the distillery manager's signature belongs to Mike Nicholson

supplying spirit for many of the country's best-known blended whiskies

delicate spices and all kinds of sub-complexities

so the whisky would have been distilled around the turn of the 1990s when

this expression showcases the spirit in its more raw and unadulterated form thanks to the virgin oak finish

The initial maturation process was in a Refill Butt before being finished in a Oloroso Sherry cask
