Description

Nepenthes muluensisNepenthes muluensis is a highland tropical plant occurring on a few peaks in central Sarawak (Gununung Murud and Mulu are some locations). It's a compact grower when small and produces gorgeous red leaves and pitchers. As the plant climbs, the pitchers transition colors from red to a gorgeous glowing white. This change is likely due to a change in prey targeting strategy as the vine ascends in the canopy of the upper montane forests they inhabit. In

flared and amazingly colorful as they mature

Nepenthes (maxima x campanulata) x veitchii "Pink Candy Cane"

The cultivar description can be found on the ICPS page here

one of the greatest Nepenthes hybrids ever produced

We’ve grown it well under lowland and intermediate conditions though it’s likely to do well in a highland environment as well

The pitchers are a gorgeous reddish orange and always seem to have a glow to them

we were doing quite a bit of travel when the seeds matured and didn’t harvest the seeds until the pods had already begun to crack

The overall shape is very squat on these clones

The seeds were placed into tissue culture by Malesiana Tropicals and an assortment of male and female clones were produced

Nepenthes aristolochioides tends to pass along very dominant genes which is the case with this hybrid

They seem hand-painted

globosa x hamata seems to be one of the best hamata crosses with a lowland species we have seen
