Following a 15 year stint in jail for buglary, Almy changed his name and was later apprehended for the murder of the 25 year old daughter of a man he worked for. He accosted her, her mother, sister, and friend, holding the 4 women up at gunpoint. He dragged her away, shot her twice, and removed her clothes. He attempted to flee to Canada but was found in a barn,
