Philodendron dolichogynium (formerly sp macas) - Exact Plant 01/19/24Philodendron dolichogynium, formerly sp. Macas, is a gorgeous new species from Southeastern Ecuador recently introduced into cultivation. It produces long, strap shaped leaves. The petioles are particularly elongated which helps it stretch out to receive light as it grows as an epiphyte in nature. It's really a must have for the collector and is a fast grower under warm conditions. Like most Philodendrons, this variety prefers moist but well draining

It's a highland plant found growing mainly as a epiphyte in upper montane forests throughout Sarawak
