Pierre Jeanneret Library Box Chair - PJ/106DIMENSIONS Max height: 77cm Width: 42. 5cm Depth: 47cm Seat: 43cm The Pierre Jeanneret solid teak library armless box chair has been catalogued as PJ SI 54A referencing the Pierre Jeanneret creation designed for the Panjab Secretariat Administration in Chandigarh circa 1960. It has a banner style backrest that is slightly tilted and curved. However, it is the braided canework seat with its unique double leg assembly that gives it the famed boxed look.
Design PJ-SI-42A is also known as the “Advocate & Press Chair” and was unsurprisingly widely seen at the high court in Chandigarh circa 1955-56
The Pierre Jeanneret easy chair was coined the “Cane & Teakwood Armchair” by Pierre Jeanneret when it was unveiled in 1955-56
